Nickelodeon are releasing their own Mario Kart game

Still just want Crash Team Racing back though, to be honest

SpongeBob, the Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Rugrats will all be involved

GameMill Entertainment has announced that Nickelodeon Kart Racers will be launching in October later this year.

The game will be very similar to the hit portable version of Mario Kart – 8 Deluxe – in that the karts themselves will be fully customisable and there will be zany powerups aplenty.

SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy have been confirmed from SpongeBob SquarePants; along with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello; Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold; and Rugrats‘ Angelica, Tommy, and Reptar.

There will be 24 different tracks and further racers from 8 famous Nick shows to choose from. Also, the tracks will be covered in slime, for some reason. Because Nickelodeon, I guess. They like slime don’t they? Or something.

Mark Meadows, a partner at GameMill, said of the release:

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Nickelodeon to bring all of these amazing characters into one fun, competitive video game for fans of all ages to enjoy. Nickelodeon has created characters and stories that are loved around the world and we specialise in transforming treasured characters and stories into playable entertainment for the die-hard fans and casual gamers alike.”

Nickelodeon Kart Racers will arrive on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 on October 23.

(If you don’t choose to race exclusively as one of the Mutant Ninja Turtles – ideally Raphael but I will accept Leonardo or Michelangelo, and I guess Donatello if you really insist – then just get out of here. Stop wasting my time. Stop wasting everyone’s time.)
