Social media was meant for moments like this.

There's plenty wrong with the likes of Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Fake news is everywhere, bullying is a very serious issue, trolls can be a nightmare, and some cruel people take twisted pleasure in sharing sensitive, personal images in vengeful acts of 'revenge porn'. That said, it can also be amazing. Not to downplay the above, but social media can be 'social' in the truest sense of the world. Shy, introverted people can find a comfortable way of communicating; those who feel alone in their particular circumstances can reach out t0 others just like them; meaningful relationships can be forged. Plus, it's a great waste of time for those of us who take great joy in procrastinating and having a laugh. And when a critical mass of people all join in on the same joke, it can be a thing of beauty. Such was the case when a New Zealander asked Twitter who the celebrity he had just asked for a selfie with was. James Malcolm asked his (then) circa 500 followers who a clearly famous man was when he noticed that people were asking for his autograph. 'Does anyone know who this is? People keep asking him to sign their t shirt', he innocently queried. https://twitter.com/DieJamesMalcolm/status/821484136988672000 Not to miss out on the (possibly) golden opportunity, James went and took a photo with the (to him) mystery celebrity, whilst again questioning: 'Can someone please tell me who this celeb is? Everyone was asking him for pics and I didn't wanna feel left out' https://twitter.com/DieJamesMalcolm/status/821488801449054208 If you haven't already figured it out, the famous face in question belongs to world-renowned Australian musician, singer-songwriter, author, screenwriter, composer and actor, Nick Cave, of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Many people knew this fact, but weren't going to disclose the information without taking the piss first with some inventive suggestions to the contrary. What transpired was a glorious who's who of who Nick Cave isn't... https://twitter.com/rstevens/status/821512225097650177 https://twitter.com/Kenny__Stewart/status/821507385894301698 https://twitter.com/lev_yashin/status/821510327837790209 https://twitter.com/ayymanduh/status/821505978017398788 https://twitter.com/memenow/status/821506487356977154 https://twitter.com/taylorhamtakes/status/821504180754018309 https://twitter.com/adrianshort/status/821505234535063552 https://twitter.com/CianMcGar/status/821503951094874113 https://twitter.com/Dream_Brother_/status/821508880240807936 https://twitter.com/FuckingMorgan/status/821504758351626242 https://twitter.com/j4mesburke/status/821510820353998849 https://twitter.com/donjackson81/status/821507039193133056 https://twitter.com/markh110/status/821520913950609408 https://twitter.com/c_h_o_p_s_y/status/821533449341149185 https://twitter.com/brianjonesdj/status/821514799775383552 https://twitter.com/HectorBeegabaw/status/821506979684372480 https://twitter.com/MaxGA92/status/821514405032689664 https://twitter.com/Mattch_Almighty/status/821611153033928705 Of course a lot of kind people did correctly identify Nick Cave, but it must be noted that James Malcolm is a 'stand-up comedian' according to his Twitter bio, so perhaps he knew all along.
