‘That f***** movie was scary asf’

New horror movie Cobweb is giving fans “the worst nightmares” and has sent one viewer’s heart rate racing.

The flick, in cinemas on September 1, follows eight-year-old Peter, who is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall.

Peter’s parents, played by Fatal Attraction’s Lizzy Caplan and The Boys’ star, Anthony Starr insist the noises are all in his head. As Peter’s fears intensifies, he believes that his parents could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust.

At school, Peter connects with his substitute teacher, Miss Devine (Cleopatra Coleman), who tries to stop him from getting bullied. When Peter gets expelled, his parents’ secrets surface, putting both them, and their son, at risk of the entity that has been haunting his waking and sleeping hours.

Miss Devine tries to come to Peter’s rescue again, but things don’t go well for her, nor Peter whose repeated isolation makes him the chief target.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 62% critics rating and an audience score of 73%.

Horror fans have called the movie a “genuinely good time” with “great atmosphere, tension, and actual moments that creeped me out.”

Another viewer said the movie was like “seven horror movies in one”, saying it made them think of, The People Under the Stairs, The Boy, Tales from the Hood.

Chapman has also been praised for her “fantastically unhinged performance” and said it had the “wildest” ending since Malignant.
