Speaking to Light Reading, Dan Taitz, COO of mobile video firm Penthera, said that Netflix’s plans to go offline were an "open secret in the video streaming community".
"We know from our sources within the industry that Netflix is going to launch this product," Taitz said.
"My expectation is that by the end of the year Netflix will be launching download-to-go as an option for their customers."
Just think, all those long flights, bus and train journeys and other situations where boredom prevails due to the lack of a decent wi-fi connection could soon be a thing of the past.
