Mother of that BBC Live guest reveals why the children came into the room

"The lesson is to lock the door"

Alan Loughnane

The funniest video of 2017 so far… hands down.

Professor Robert Kelly was talking about South Korea live on BBC News on Friday when the door of his home office opened behind him and in wandered a toddler.

The scene escalated when Kelly’s other young child floated into the room like some kind of demon baby behind the elder sibling to interrupt him while Kelly spoke to the anchor of the news show.

If that video couldn’t get any better, the children’s mother then flew into the room to drag the kids out of the live broadcast.

It created one of the funniest viral moments seen in recent years…

If you wanted some explanation as to why it happened, apart from children being wonderfully innocent, then you may be in luck as it looks like the children’s granny is prepared to shoulder the blame.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ellen Kelly, the mother of Robert said: “Robert usually Skypes with us from his home office, which is where he did the interview.

“The kids probably heard voices coming from the computer and assumed it was us.

“It was just hilarious.”

She added that she was proud of her son, hand gave him a little piece of advice for the future: “Life happens. The lesson is to lock the door.”

Another twist in what is our favourite story of 2017…
