Meet Bilious Barrage: Nigel Farage’s 2000AD doppelganger

We don't think Judge Dredd is going to take any sh*t from this guy...

JOE

Classic British comic 2000AD will give Ukip leader Nigel Farage a satirical cartoon make over, its editor has revealed.

The excellently-named Bilious Barrage will reportedly feature in a story called Judge Dredd : People Like Us later this year. Barrage will cross paths with ruthless law enforcer Judge Dredd in Mega City One when a series of terrorist attacks fuel anti-immigrant tensions.

Art imitating life, almost.

The comic has a long history of taking the piss, as editor Matt Smith explains:

2000 AD has a long tradition of taking a pop at authority, stemming from its anti-establishment punk origins back in the 1970s.

“Whether it was Margaret Thatcher being executed on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral by the Volgans in the very first issue, to Tony Blair being lampooned as the monomaniacal superhero B.L.A.I.R. 1, or Nemesis the Warlock ruthlessly satirising organised religion, 2000 AD has always taken a pop at the powerful and the pompous and no one, not even today’s politicians, are safe.”

It’s worth noting that Joseph Dredd – to give the street judge his Sunday name – doesn’t really care much for politics:
