M. Night Shyamalan has just announced his next movie and you should all be very, VERY excited

This is intriguing

It feels like it has been a long, LONG time since we had cause to be excited about an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

Back in the day, when he was giving us The Sixth Sense and Signs, we were always so hopeful for what he gave us next.

But then he went through that period when we gave us The Happening and After Earth and we began to question why anyone was still giving him money.

Learning from his lesson, he went back to basics and gave us a tiny scary movie with a plot twist ending. To be honest, The Visit wasn’t great, but the $5 million movie made $98 million at the box office, so producers were willing to bet on him again.

He followed that up with this year’s Split (still one of the best movies of 2017), a $9 million movie that has made $275 million to date in cinemas.

He has been teasing fans with what he’s working on next, and he finally took to Twitter to confirm what we’d all been hoping for…

… as it will be a sequel to both Unbreakable and Split!

If you’ve seen Split (or if you haven’t and don’t care to have it spoilt), you’ll remember that it turns out James McAvoy’s beastly villain is actually a part of the same movie world where Bruce Willis’ indestructible hero from Unbreakable resides.

From there, we’ll let Mr. Shyamalan fill you in.

If you haven’t seen Unbreakable, we strongly urge you check out the underappreciated modern classic, and here’s Universal giving us a very rough outline of what we can expect from the plot of Glass:

“Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.”

January 2019 can’t come soon enough! Have a look at our interview with the director and the ending of Split here:
