Could it be real?
Liam Gallagher has responded to claims that Oasis are set to make an appearance at the Super Bowl alongside Kendrick Lamar.
Lamar was officially announced as the New Orleans Super Bowl performer last Sunday but an apparent Apple Music sheet which appeared to leak Lamar’s setlist listed the Manchester band as a featured artist.
The decision for Lamar to perform had caused uproar as football fans and rap fans alike had assumed local legend Lil Wayne would headline the half-time show.
The leaked setlist split Lamar’s performance into three sections: Part I, Part II and an encore.
The encore section baffled fans as it indicated Lamar would perform his diss track, ‘Not Like Us’ which is directed at Drake, six times in a row to close the show.
A bigger talking point was the encore’s opening where Lamar was said to be performing the Oasis hit ‘Rock n’ Roll Star’ featuring KB and the band itself.
The leaked list was brought to the attention of lead singer Liam Gallagher on social media platform X.

He neither confirmed or denied the authenticity of the setlist but said: “How’s that leaked ffs.”
Fans couldn’t tell if the singer was joking around or if he was seriously confused that the information had got out so far in advance of the performance.
It is unlikely the setlist is real given the limited time available.
However, fans were quick to comment. One fan said: “Is this for real? Oasis at the Super Bowl? I’m not processing it, but Kenny does like Oasis.”
Another tried to shut down the excitement quickly as they said: “He’s joking, guys. He would ignore it if it was true.”
‘Rock n’ Roll Star’ appeared as the first track on Oasis’ debut studio album, ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994.
Oasis last performed the track on tour in 2009 before the band split up later that year, however, Liam performed the song in 2017 at a charity concert to aid the Manchester Arena Bombing victims.
Lamar has a reputation for bringing out shock performers during his concerts which transcend genres.
