Keanu Reeves cuddles up with adorable puppies during TV interview

‘This is the best thing I’ve ever seen’

Keanu Reeves fans say they can now die happy, having seen the John Wick star holding adorable puppies during a TV ‘pup quiz’.

The John Wick star took part in the segment on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show, where he declared himself “the puppy king”.

Keanu, 58, was challenged by host Jimmy Fallon. Each time he got a correct answer he was handed a Golden Retriever puppy.

During the game, Fallon commented that the match was “not fair” because who in there right mind would try and take “a puppy away from John Wick”.

After being passed more pooches than he could handle, Keanu asked, “who is the puppy king?, before declaring: “I am the puppy king.”

The actor also used his appearance on the show to plug his upcoming movie, John Wick: Chapter Four.

Before Keanu was overcome with the cuteness of the puppies, Fallon told he saw the actor at a restaurant and sent him a single olive.

Keanu’s response was epic and somewhat embarrassing, for Fallon.

The host explained: “You had the whole restaurant come over and sing me Happy Birthday. And it was not my birthday…I blew out the candle.”

The late-night show quizzed Keanu about his comic book, BZRKR, which he said he was hoping to get adapted into a film.

“Netflix said ‘do you want to make it with us?’ And I was like, ‘sure.’ And so we’re going to try and make that happen,” the actor revealed.

When asked about John Wick: Chapter Four, Keanu lauded the film’s director, Chad Stahelski, saying he was “very inventive”.

“He really wants to create different kinds of environments or ways in the storytelling for the action,” Keanu explained.

The performer went on to speak about the themes of the fourth instalment in the action-adventure franchise, saying: “It’s friendship, brotherhood, father-daughter, the choices you make, rules and consequences…who are you, man?”

The interview came a day before Keanu’s co-star in the movie, Lance Reddick passed away, aged 60.

In a joint statement, Keanu and Stahelski said they will dedicate the latest sequel to Reddick.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with,” they said.

“Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”

The studio behind the film, Lionsgate, added in a statement, “The world of Wick would not be what it is without Lance Reddick and the unparalleled depth he brought to Charon’s humanity and unflappable charisma. Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and hugely impressive body of work, but we will remember him as our lovely, joyful friend and Concierge. We’re stunned and heartbroken, and our deepest condolences go to his beloved family and his fans all around the world.”
