Move over Robert Pattinson, Keanu Reeves wants to suit up as Batman

He’s already played the Batman, but he didn’t have to suit up for it…

Keanu Reeves has once again voiced his desire to suit up as the Caped Crusader.

The ‘John Wick’ actor stars as Batman in the animated film ‘DC League of Super-Pets’, but wants to go one step further and take on the role in a live-action film.

Speaking to Extra at the premier for ‘League of Super-Pets’ in Los Angeles, he said: “I love Batman, as a character. I love him in the comic books, in the films, so to get the opportunity to voice, to play Batman was awesome.”

The 57-year-old added that it has always “been a dream” of his to take on the role of Bruce Wayne.

He went on to praise Robert Pattinson for his portrayal of the superhero in ‘The Batman,’ but said if DC were ever after an “older Batman” he’d love to take it on.

The ‘Matrix’ star said: “Pattinson’s got Batman right now and he’s doing awesome, so maybe down the road, maybe when they need an older Batman!”

Even though he describes his role in ‘League of Super-Pets’ as just a cameo, Reeves said it was still “a lot of fun” to play Batman.

The family-friendly film, which is released in cinemas on July 29, follows the pets of superheroes such as Superman and Batman as they try to stop a villainous plot when their owners are captured.

Along with Reeves, the film also features Dwayne Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog and Kevin Hart as Batman’s canine companion Ace, a.k.a. Bat Hound.

But before Reeves gets a shot at playing Bruce Wayne, he might have to get in line behind Christian Bale, who has not ruled out returning to the role he played in the critically-acclaimed and hugely successful ‘Dark Knight’ films.

The Brit recently said he would consider returning to the role, but only on one condition – that Christopher Nolan directs again.
