While it's not clear whether or not he's bringing sexy back, Justin Timberlake today announced that he will be releasing a new album in February.
Four years since his last solo studio effort, The 20/20 Experience - a double album that was released in two parts - Justin Timberlake has now revealed that his new album will be titled Man of the Woods and will arrive February 2nd, two days before his performance at this year's Super Bowl halftime show.
Announced via a teaser trailer that hears JT break down what the album means to him, he says: "This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I've ever written, where I'm from. And it's personal."
With other select bits of narration from his wife, actress Jessica Biel - "It feels like mountains, trees, campfires" - and longtime collaborator Pharrell Williams - "It feels so earthy. It's just where you are in your life right now", the video depicts JT out in the open exposed to nature, walking the land, breathing in fresh air and finding comfort enjoying the free flowing current of a lake whilst stood in it.
While there was some public backlash when it was announced that Justin Timberlake would be playing the halftime show at this year's Super Bowl in Minneapolis over the way he handled the infamous Janet Jackson incident in 2004, it hasn't stopped the former NSYNC frontman from accepting the invitation to perform, and now we can see why. What better publicity is there than playing one of the world's biggest live televised events? Exactly.
It is currently unclear who will produce on the album - although if Pharrell is in the teaser video then it's highly likely he had some sort of input - or if there are any guest features, but what we do know is he's back ladies and gentlemen, one of pop's most celebrated artists is back.
