JOE’s Weekly Cheat Sheet #1: From Seoul To Rio

Get ahead this week.

JOE

Something everyone will be talking about…

BrOTHERHOOD is out this week, the follow-up to KiDULTHOOD and AdULTHOOD.

For those of us brought up on these films, from teenage years through to, er, being old, feeling like you’re increasingly finding out what’s cool and what’s not cool from people half your age, Noel Clarke’s character Sam should resonate.

Can he keep up with the new breed? Well… we’ll find out this week.

Something that’ll make you (seem) cooler…

The Olympics are over, which is a crying shame, but there’s good news.

Packer Shoes and Diadora have released the “From Seoul to Rio”, there are only 500 available and they are already selling quick, so get in there.

Something that’ll change your life…

A company called Andronium Inc. are making a “shell” that turns your phone into a laptop. All you have to do is plug your phone in, and the shell does the rest. Why didn’t YOU think of that, eh?

It’s only about £80, and is available through a Kickstarter campaign.

Something that’ll make you seem clever in the group chat…

You know how time seems to go faster as you get older… closer to the sweet release of that eternal sleep.

Well there’s a reason for that. The biochemical mechanism behind this perception seems to be that the release of neurotransmitter dopamine (which controls the flow of information from other areas of the brain) helps us to learn to measure time.

After we turn 20 and continue to age, dopamine levels are reduced, making time appear to run faster. Keep this one in your locker for the next time you want to sound like a smart ass.

Something we highly recommend…

We got to play the brand new Madden game this week, and it’s looking good. A few of the classic old problems haven’t been addressed, but there have been strides forward in areas that desperately needed looking at.

Think of this as a viable alternative to when you’ve been playing FIFA for two hours and fancy doing something a little different.
