Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are preparing to reunite on screen once again, but this time in a very different role.
The trio became household names during their long-running stint on Top Gear, where they worked together from 2002 until 2015, before launching The Grand Tour on Prime Video in 2016.
After the original presenters stepped away, Amazon confirmed that the motoring series would be getting a new generation of hosts.
The reboot will feature YouTube creators Thomas Holland and James Engelman, known for their channel Throttle House, alongside train enthusiast Francis Bourgeois, whose real name is Luke Magnus Nicolson.
Holland and Engelman have built a huge following through their car reviews and track tests, with their channel attracting more than 3.4 million subscribers.
Fans of The Grand Tour will not be losing Clarkson, Hammond and May completely just yet.
Although a new trio of presenters is preparing to take over, executive producer Andy Wilman has confirmed that the original hosts will still appear in the upcoming episodes as part of the transition.
Speaking to 3Bs radio at the Buckingham Literary Festival, Wilman explained that the team behind the show is fully supporting the new presenters and wants to help pass the show on to its next generation.
“We’ve got three guys coming soon with a new Grand Tour, and we’ve got behind them. Our guys are in the shows doing cameos, so we’re wishing them well because we do want to pass that baton on.”

Jeremy Clarkson has also shared his thoughts on the new line-up, revealing that he has already seen some of their work and believes they have what it takes to continue the series.
“I’ve seen the guys being chosen in the early days, and I’ve seen some of the stuff they’ve been doing. And it’s very, very good,” Clarkson told Radio Times.
He admitted the new presenters will bring a different energy to the show because they are “three completely different people” from the original trio, but praised their humour and said he is confident the format can continue.
The new era of The Grand Tour arrives on Prime Video on 4 September.
