Here’s what’s coming to Netflix in July

Plenty to get stuck into.

The football season is over and it’s likely that you’re going to need something to binge on. Well, here are some of the best titles that will be coming to Netflix in July.

Films

It Follows

Plot: After a strange sexual encounter, a teenager finds herself haunted by nightmarish visions and the inescapable sense that something is after her.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Plot: With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Tom Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.

 

Deepwater Horizon

Plot: On April 20th, 2010, one of the world’s largest man-made disasters occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), this story honors the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.

Blair Witch

Plot: A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.

Before I Fall (Netflix Original)

Plot: February 12 is just another day in Sam’s charmed life, until it turns out to be her last. Stuck reliving her last day over one inexplicable week, Sam untangles the mystery around her death and discovers everything she’s losing

To The Bone (Netflix Original)

Plot: Ellen, a 20-year-old with anorexia nervosa, goes on a harrowing, sometimes funny journey of self-discovery at a group home run by an unusual doctor.

The Incredible Jessica James

Plot: An aspiring playwright in New York strikes up a friendship with a guy while on the rebound from a break-up.

Elsewhere, film fans can enjoy Scary Movie 2 and 3, The Illusionist, and John Hughes’ ’80s classic , The Breakfast Club.

Documentaries and TV shows

Cocaine Cowboys

Plot: In the 1980s, ruthless Colombian cocaine barons invaded Miami with a brand of violence unseen in this country since Prohibition-era Chicago – and it put the city on the map. “Cocaine Cowboys” is the true story of how Miami became the drug, murder and cash capital of the United States, told by the people who made it all happen.

Friends from College – Season 1

Plot: A group of friends from Harvard played by Keegan-Michael Key (Ethan), Cobie Smulders (Lisa), Annie Parisse (Sam), Nat Faxon (Nick), Fred Savage (Max), and Jae Suh Park (Marianne) are facing down their forties. With interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with one another Friends from College is a comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.

Ozark – Season 1

Plot: A Chicago-based financial advisor secretly relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks when his dealings with a drug cartel go awry.

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride

Plot: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find themselves in 1890s London in this Christmas special.

Last Chance U: Season 2

Plot: “Last Chance U” follows a group of young men training to become the future stars of the NFL. Based at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), “Last Chance U” takes us on a journey to understand the real men of the gridiron at one of the most successful, but least known athletic programs.

Gavin and Stacey: Season 3

Plot: While Stacey is thrilled to be living back home, Gavin tries to come to terms with the culture shock of working with his new Welsh colleagues.

Hitler: The Rise of Evil

Plot: A unique slant, profiling the life of Adolf Hitler as a child and his rise through the ranks of the National German Workers’ Party prior to World War II.

Suits: Season 6

Plot: On the run from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout, finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City’s best lawyers.

 

Wallander Season 1-4

Plot: A TV program centered on a soul-searching Swedish cop.

Power: Season 4

Plot: James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a wealthy New York night club owner who has it all, catering for the city’s elite and dreaming big, lives a double life as a drug kingpin.

Elsewhere, TV addicts can binge on Castlevania (Season 1), Shooter (Season 2), Orphan Black (Season 5), QI (Seasons 13 and 14) Chasing Coral and Daughters of Destiny.
