Here’s how the Game Of Thrones team plans to keep Season 8 spoilers a secret

They don't want a repeat of Season 7's leaks

Season 7 of Game Of Thrones was plagued by leaks — with script details, plot points and even whole episodes ending up online ahead of schedule.

With the final season (slowly) approaching, Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has confirmed that unprecedented measures will be put in place to keep the show’s spoilers tightly under wraps.

In an interview with Scandinavian TV station Skavlan, Coster-Waldau revealed that the actors wouldn’t even be getting the scripts ahead of schedule this time around. Liam Cunningham, the Irish actor who plays Davos Seaworth, said something similar recently… claiming that he had been given a script but was not able to open it yet.

HBO President Casey Bloys has also revealed that multiple endings and alternative scenes will be filmed throughout the season, thus preventing those on set from stealing the show’s secrets.

“They’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens,” he said. “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something… people know.”

In this day and age it’s almost impossible for a major show like Game Of Thrones to keep its secrets secret ahead of their air dates, but if all else fails we can simply stay offline until Mondays at 9pm when Season 8 rolls around.
