The Simpsons have been an enormous success since they first appeared over a quarter of a century ago.

Having started in the US, the show has reached every corner of the globe with its episodes being translated into many different languages. But in Georgia, things were different. The former Soviet republic chose not to join in with The Simpsons craze as it swept the planet in the nineties. Instead, they decided to go ahead and invent their own version - The Samsonadzes. As pointed out by A.V Club, its creator, Shalva Ramishvili, insists that his version is not a rip-off of the American animation we've all come to know and love and that there are differences.
