No, Friends is not leaving Netflix on January 1, don’t believe the hype

No, it has been your week, month and year because Friends is not leaving Netflix UK & Ireland.

Rather, the sitcom of all sitcoms is moving streaming locations in the US. From Netflix to AT&T’s Warner Media service.

Netflix has 140 million subscribers, 60 million of which live in the US. So yeah, they won’t be able to watch Friends, but the rights change has absolutely no impact on UK distribution.

The show will still be in the platform’s UK library, contrary to the headlines of several of the UK’s online publishers. Not naming names.

Netflix UK & Ireland confirmed the news on Twitter: “The One Where Friends Is Going Nowhere, Don’t Worry”

So, do not believe the hype. Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe etc etc will still be available to watch in the UK.

My opinion: Friends is not funny, massively over-hyped and people who make enjoying the show a part of their personality are mundane.

But that’s just me.
