First Black Widow trailer sees Scarlett Johansson finally take centre stage in the MCU
"It’s gonna be a hell of a reunion"
Despite debuting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe all the way back in 2010's Iron Man 2, Black Widow has remained just a supporting character throughout the Avengers and Captain America movies. But, after years of rumours and development hell, in 2018 it was finally confirmed that Scarlett Johansson would be getting to star in her very own Black Widow solo adventure.
Now, we have the first trailer.
Of course, the first question you probably have is [SPOILER FOR ENDGAME] didn't Black Widow die sacrificing herself to get the Soul Stone? Yes, she did, but this movie reportedly will take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Which will allow them to introduce the great Florence Pugh (Midsommar, Fighting With My Family) as a new Black Widow, presumably to replace Johansson in future Avengers movies.
Other new faces we get a glimpse of in the trailer are Rachel Weisz, as yet another Black Widow of some sort, Stranger Things' David Harbour as old school Soviet superhuman Red Guardian, and masked villain Taskmaster (but we dunno who is playing him yet).
Also, that white suit looks incredibly cool.
