Fans urged to check out incredible action film starring actor 'chosen as next James Bond'

People reckon it’s the film that ‘proved he’s got the swagger to play Bond’

Film fans have been urged to watch a 2022 blockbuster starring the actor who looks set to become the next James Bond

On Tuesday morning, reports emerged that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had been ‘formally offered’ the role and would be signing the contract “in the coming days.”

The actor has reportedly been chosen for the iconic role by Eon Productions, the company behind the films, and will accept it in the “coming days.”

A source told the Sun that this will be ahead of filming on the next film getting underway later this year.

They told the publication: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.

“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

Whilst many will recognise the 33-year-old for his starring role in Kick-Ass and his performances in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, some reckon it was his performance in Bullet Train that bagged him the role of Bond.

The action comedy film came out in 2022 and features Brad Pitt as a former assassin who must battle former killers on – yes, you’ve guessed it – a bullet train.

Whilst the film got mixed reception from critics, it was a success with audiences, with many suggesting that it played a huge part in Taylor-Johnson landing the role of Bond.

The Brit stars in the film as an assassin, and many have urged film fans to watch the blockbuster following the news that the actor looks set to be handed a licence to kill as 007.

Writing on X, one person said: “I’m overall pretty happy with this choice. Would have preferred [Henry] Cavill, but I can see why they might want a younger actor, and Taylor-Johnson proved he’s got the swagger to play Bond in Bullet Train.”

Another commented: “Got to say, I’m excited if the rumours of Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing Bond are true. The swagger in Bullet Train is enough to convince me.”

A third wrote: “All the comments saying he’s not a good fit clearly haven’t seen him in Bullet Train.”

Replying to someone who questioned the casting of Taylor-Johnson, someone said: “Honestly, watch Bullet Train and come back to me.”

Someone else said that they “very much agree” with Taylor-Johnson’s rumoured casting as Bond after they’d watched Bullet Train.

And another said if Taylor-Johnson was 007 it “might actually make me want to watch Bond.”

“Watch Bullet Train to see him in action,” they added.

Taylor-Johnson has long been considered one of the front-runners for the role and has previously been a bit cryptic when asked about rumours connecting him to Bond.

Back in August, he was asked by Esquire whether he had been in talks with producers about being the next James Bond.

In response, he said: “I just focus on the things I can have in my hands right now.

“What’s in front of me right now.”
