Christmas classic Elf is being screened on TV tonight and fans on social media can't wait.
Released in 2003, it received generally favourable reviews from critics and grossed $220 million worldwide on a $33 million budget.
The film has gone on to inspire the 2010 Broadway musical
Elf: The Musical and 2014 stop-motion animation
Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas.

In case you needed reminding, the film follows Buddy (Will Ferrell), who was accidentally stowed away in Santa's sack and taken to the North Pole as a baby.
Years later, as an adult human raised by elves, Santa then allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan). However, Hobbs has been on Santa's naughty list all his life and does not know Buddy was even born.
Through his travels, Buddy experiences what life is like as a human and meets Jovie (Zooey Deschanel), but when their meeting interferes with Walter's job, his and Buddy’s relationship becomes strained.
