And the saga continues

Djoa Cat and Noah Schnapp’s social media blow-up has had two very different outcomes for the stars.

Schapp gained an extra million followers and the rapper lost 200k.

Doja Cat slid into the DMs of Stranger Things actor Schnapp to ask for the contact details of his castmate, Joseph Quinn.

Schnapp later shared their exchange with his millions of TikTok followers, claiming she was “thirsty”, before the Woman singer called out his actions as “weasel sh*t” on an Instagram live.

According to social media statistics tracker Social Blade, the 17-year-old’s Instagram followers jumped from 24.25 million on July 7 to over 25 million. On the other hand, Doja Cat, 26, went from 24.34 million to 24.1 million.

The internet is still divided on the initial social media exchange, with many questioning why Doja Cat was asking a teenager for his adult castmate’s phone number. Others have said Schnapp violated her privacy.

Some think the rapper, real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, may have responded to the backlash on Twitter where she wrote: “y’all are so cringe and lame and nobody wants to hang w u that’s why y’all be on here unironically writing replies to shit that makes you mad.”

One fan replied””This fall off gotta be one of the worst ones this decade. The brighest flames burn out the quickest fr.”

While many have criticised Doja Cat’s approach to the situation, no one is questioning her interest in Quinn, who recently shared his hopes of playing a young Robert Downey Jr. His killer skills on the guitar are but one of the reasons his loyal fans are obsessed.

The 29-year-old Brit went viral earlier this week after reacting emotionally to a fan at London Film and Comic-Con.

The fan said: “I’m sure a lot of us have heard what happened yesterday, whether it’s true or not, about how you were treated.

“I won’t really comment on it, I just wanted to say, thank you from all of us – we’re really grateful you’re sharing the time.

“Thank you for signing our things, spending time with us and making our summer.”

Quinn was visibly taken back, and soon enough, videos of his tearful moment were on every corner of the internet.
