David Schwimmer has responded to suggestions he was the lookalike of a suspected thief in Blackpool on social media.
The suspect was seen in the photo carrying a crate of cans out of a location in the town centre. Authorities want to speak to him “in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the September 20th."
After the image went viral, people on social media quickly jumped on the fact that he looks a lot like David Schwimmer, the actor best known for playing Ross in the 1990s sitcom Friends.
Lancashire constabulary even chipped in to say it wasn't Schwimmer in the video. They wrote: “Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date.
“We’re so sorry it has to be this way.”
And now Schwimmer has responded via his own Facebook page.
Captioning the video, Schwimmer wrote: "Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation."
