Chris Hemsworth is famous for his frame and muscles as Thor, but at the moment he looks more like Tom Hanks in Cast Away.

The Australian actor is living on around 700 calories a day to play sailor Owen Chase for new Moby Dick film 'In the Heart of the Sea'. He's had to strip down to skin on bone to shoot scenes which depict him and the ship's crew stranded at sea for 90 days as they struggle to overpower a killer whale. It must be especially tough for Chris, who recently admitted, "I spend more time thinking about food than anything else".

The actor shared his new skinny body on Instagram.
