Bono’s guitar playing days appear to be numbered

JOE

Could it be that Bono’s guitar playing days are behind him? It seems that way.

U2’s iconic frontman fell from his bike last November, suffering multiple fractures to his face, arm, shoulder and left hand. Two of his fingers remain numb and are unable to extend, leaving him uncertain over whether he’ll ever be able to play his instrument again.

“It’s not looking good,” Bono said. “I’m embarrassed talking about it. It’s just a bummer if you like playing guitar.”

But maybe we shouldn’t be too concerned. Bono managed to recover from a spinal injury in 2010, despite nearly being left with permanent damage.

Let’s hope that this isn’t the end of a legendary career and merely a reminder that he needs to take a bit more care of himself.
