Tuning in, yeah?

The best installment of the James Bond franchise is on Freeview tonight.

What better way to turn down the hangover and simmer away ahead of the coming week – rest easy and tune in your box.

Skyfall is a 2012 film, starring Daniel Craig in his third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva.

It was directed by Sam Mendes and is the 23 installment of the James Bond series. The movie’s theme song “Skyfall”, written and performed by Adele, was critically acclaimed, reached number two in the UK Top 40 and became the first Bond theme to win at the Golden Globes, the Brit Awards and the Academy Awards.

After Bond seems to fall to his death on a mission that goes wrong, M’s job is on the line. Matters get worse when a bomb goes off in the MI6 building, forcing their operation underground.

Chilling villain Raoul Silva claims responsibility, before holding M to ransom with stolen top secret information. With the service badly compromised, the only person whom M can trust is Bond, who picks a good time to reappear from the dead.

As M’s past comes back to haunt her, Silva’s motives become apparent.

The film also sees the return of two recurring characters after an absence of two films: Q and Moneypenny.

It won two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Skyfall is on ITV2 at 7.30pm on Saturday March 31.
