Full details are here.

For the first time in its history, the BBC have revealed the amount of money that their on-screen talent are earning. Of these 96 stars who earn more than £150,000 a year, the total earnings amount to almost £30m.

Only one third of the names on the list are women.

Chris Evans is the highest paid BBC star taking home £2.2-2.49m. Match of the Day host Gary Lineker is the second highest earner on £1.75-1.79m. Chatshow and radio host Graham Norton receives £850k-£899k -– although his wages from his chat show aren’t taken into account as it’s owned by a separate company.

Claudia Winkleman is the highest paid woman with £450k-£499k.

As for the BBC News team, Jeremy Vine is the top earner on £700k-£749k, he’s ahead of Huw Edwards who earns £550k-£599k. The highest paid female journalist is Fiona Bruce on £350k-£399k.

The BBC receives about £3.7 billion every year from the TV licence fee and in April the fee increased for the first time since 2010, to £147 from £145.50. The BBC have stressed that its overall talent bill has been reduced by more than £4m over the last financial year, to £194m.
