The hit show's final chapter has officially started production
The Batman's new Joker, Barry Keoghan, will be joining the third and final series of Netflix hit
Top Boy alongside
Peaky Blinders' star Brian Gleeson.
Netflix made the announcement earlier today in celebration of the show's third series officially entering production in London.
The show - which is set in the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney and follows the exploits of two local drug dealers Dushane, played by Ashley Walters and Sully, played by Kane Robinson - has been critically praised since its 2011 debut.
This new slew of episodes will mark
Top Boy's third outing on Netflix - however the show existed before it landed on the streaming giant, with two initial series airing on Channel 4 between 2011 and 2013.
While little is known about the programme's upcoming final chapter, we do know that Keoghan and Gleeson will play two new characters named Jonny and Tadgh, respectively. They'll join existing cast members including Walters and Sully, and the likes of Simbi Ajikawo, Jasmine Jobson, Saffron Hocking and Araloyin Oshunremi as filming gets underway in and around London.

Keoghan was last glimpsed during director Matt Reeves' recent moody superhero epic
The Batman, in which he became the latest in a string of actors to try their hand at playing cackling baddie the Joker.
Glimpsed only briefly via obscured and blurry encounters with Robert Pattinson's angst-ridden Dark Knight, his appearance quickly became one of the most talked about takeaway's from DC's latest big screen Batman outing.
Meanwhile Gleeson, son of iconic Irish star Brendan Gleeson, was recently seen starring in
Peaky Blinders as Jimmy McCavern and acting alongside his brother,
Star Wars actor Domhnall Gleeson in Channel 4 comedy
Frank of Ireland, a show that he also co-created.
The latest series of
Top Boy came to a close in March 2022. At the time of writing, it is unclear when the series' final chapter will be released on Netflix.
