This Time with Alan Partridge co-writers and directors Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons have let slip of another new Partridge series coming later this year during an interview on the Empire podcast.

Filming is set to begin as early as May, with the man himself taking on a new challenge away from attempting to present This Time with a very, very dry mouth.

“The podcast thing is interesting, I could definitely see Alan doing that. Actually, there are other formats on our list, one of which we’re – I don’t know if we can talk about it – but we’re about to shoot another Partridge series,” they told podcast host Chris Hewitt.

“We’re going to film it in May for the BBC, which is Alan trying his hand at something else,” they added.

Whilst there has been no official update about this new series from the BBC, the writing duo did previously hint to the Independent that it may involve Partridge trying to do a “Dimbleby-style grand sweep of British history”.

If you’ve been as Partridge obsessed for as long as us you’ll no doubt ignore that juicy clue and instead choose to believe that Monkey Tennis is finally happening. Quite frankly, it’s about time.
