A not-so-subtle dig from the Britain’s Got Talent judge
Amanda Holden seemed to take a triumphant swipe at Phillip Schofield, following his sudden exit from ITV show This Morning.
After weeks of speculation and endless headlines about his deteriorating relationship with Holly Willoughby, the 61-year-old released a statement confirming his departure with “immediate effect” on Saturday afternoon.
This brings to an end his 21-year stint on the show.
But just moments after Schofield release his statement, Holden posted a picture of the “triumphant” emoji, showing an arm flexing its muscles, to her Instagram account.
Many took this as a show of celebration from Holden at the news of Schofield’s departure.
In the past, there have been reports of dislike from Holden towards her ITV colleague. This has stemmed from Schofield apparently blocking Holden’s bid to host This Morning while Willoughby was presenting the 2018 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in Australia.
Schofield has previously said that any claim he played a role in Holden missing out on This Morning hosting duties is “malicious gossip”.
Holden also appeared to take a dig at Schofield and Willoughby following the ‘queuegate’ saga last year.
Speaking on her Heart FM show, the Britain’s Got Talent judge praised David Beckham for ‘getting in line’ and queuing for hours to see the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state.
When she later shared the clip on Instagram, she added the caption ‘Get in line!’
