Here’s what UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem looks like before and after his failed drugs test in 2012

Quite the contrast...

Alistair Overeem is set for a huge UFC heavyweight clash on home soil against Andrei Arlovki.

The monstrous Dutchman will face The Pit Bull at UFC Rotterdam on Sunday night.

Former K1 and DREAM champion Overeem weighed in at 244lbs for the headline bout against the 37-year-old Belarusian kickboxer

The 35-year-old, who was actually born in Hounslow, England, is on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC and could put himself in contention for a title shot if he beats Arlovski.

Ahead of the action, one MMA fan shared a side-by-side of Overeem before his failed drugs test in 2012 and then at the weigh-in for UFC Rotterdam.

The difference is pretty striking…

The top shot was taken before UFC 141 where Overeem, who is the only man to hold titles in two different martial arts at the same time, was at a mind-boggling 263lbs.

The picture was taken at the weigh-in before his famous victory over Brock Lesnar back in December 2011.

But Overeem failed a drugs test in the run up to a scheduled fight with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146 in May 2016.

He was found to have a testosterone to epitestosterone ratio came back at 14:1 – more than double the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s T/E ratio limit is 6:1.

Overeem blamed anti-inflammatory medication which was mixed with testosterone that was given to him by a doctor in a statement after the failed test.

“I absolutely do not believe in, nor do I use performance-enhancing drugs,” the statement read. “I am a clean fighter and I will do whatever it takes to prove this to everyone.

“My doctor prescribed, and I accepted, an anti-inflammatory medication that was mixed with testosterone.

“I was completely unaware that testosterone was one of the ingredients in the medication. Although I was unaware, I do realize it is my job to know what I am putting into my body.”

After seeing out his nine month lay off, he returned to the octagon with a loss against Antonio Silva and Travis Browne in 2013.

But he has beaten Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson and Junior Dos Santos in his last three fights, and now the streamlined Overeem (bottom shot) looks to keep his heavyweight hotstreak going weighing around 20lbs lighter.

He’s still a beast in anyone’s books.
