JOE’s got big plans for video in 2017 – we’re looking to expand and strengthen our already strong video team, and want a talented videographer to join the ranks in our London office.


The job: Mid-weight videographer at JOE Media.

JOE Media is a leading online men’s lifestyle publication company based in Shoreditch, London. We have developed the website and our office rapidly in the last couple of years and are continuing to expand. We want the right person to join the digital video department and carry on that momentum.

We are looking to hire a talented videographer who can demonstrate passion for video and creative thinking. The chosen candidate will have plenty of ideas, energy and enthusiasm and be able to work hard and swiftly on a variety of projects.

The online digital video market is exciting, bold and fast-paced – an exciting role for a creative thinker. You’ll be producing videos for our wide range of clients, social platforms and website. The video projects will be highly varied, from event video production to social media and news videos as well as live-­produced shows to be aired through social platforms.

You’ll be expected to have a good knowledge of trends in the video and social media industries and apply them to your work. We’re looking for someone who wants to build something great, is super motivated and a is team player.

Here are a few examples of the video JOE puts out right now:


– Video editing ­including animation, special effects and colour grading if necessary.
– Filming at a variety of different locations, both in the UK and abroad.
– Helping to create engaging and groundbreaking ideas (e.g. our famous face-swaps and first UK sponsored live production show through social platforms).
– Producing high-quality video that meets all aspects of the client’s brief.
– Developing ideas, concepts and storyboards for a video brief.
– Work with creative management to deliver high-end video and services.
– Work with the sales team to produce signed campaigns to the client’s brief and deadline, ensuring that all materials and production needs are accounted for ahead of shooting.


– 4+ years industry experience (brand/commercial/social background preferable).
– Leadership abilities, with a passionate attitude towards promoting company culture.
– Experience as a producer or key skills for production including managing costs and bringing a production through to completion on budget.
– Impeccable eye for design and visualisation.
– Expert knowledge and experience in Premiere Pro & After Effects.
– Knowledge and experience shooting on Canon 5D Mk III.
– Experience working with and directing on­screen talent.
– Creative thinker, able to manage video briefs and build a rapport with clients.
– Ability to work quickly on a variety of projects.
– Meticulous attention to detail.
– Focused on results and deadlines.
– Being technically minded and able to troubleshoot your own problems would be advantageous.
