Amazon Prime Day takes place on 8-11 July in 2025 and it means thousands of tech products will be reduced in price.
Among those could be the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max, the high-end phone launched last September and set to be replaced by the new as-yet-unconfirmed iPhone 17 later this year.
At launch the flagship Apple smartphone was priced at £1,119. Since September that price has dropped slightly at some retailers and you can now get a brand new handset for £1,109.
Anything below this price for the 258GB version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max would be classed as a discount. Apple does not massively discount the price of the iPhone so if you can get one for under £1,000 it would be a good deal and the cheapest we have ever seen the phone.
You can already get the phone cheaper than £1,000 if you choose a second-hand ‘renewed’ model. Amazon is selling them for £926 for the Desert Titanium 256GB edition of the handset.
Amazon promises the battery will be at least at 80% capacity on the renewed phone. You can see it here.
There are cheaper up front options if you want to sign up for a contract and spread the cost of the phone over the duration of the contract. However, that may end up in you ultimately paying more for the phone.
The cheapest deal we can find for the iPhone 16 Pro Max is £38 a month with a £9 up front fee for the phone on a 36-month contract and we cannot find a cheaper deal anywhere. That means the phone costs £1,368 over the course of the contract.
You will also have to add a data package to that contract, which brings it to £43 a month for the cheapest 5GB option.
You can upgrade your phone after 24 months of the contract, which is the best option if you want to upgrade to the latest model after two years.
Amazon Prime Day begins on 8 July and runs across four days until midnight on 11 July. The day will see thousands of deals on technology but Amazon has not confirmed if Apple devices will be included in the sale.
The deals will only be available for those who sign up for an Amazon Prime account. You can get a free trial of the account here.
