The new iPhone 17 Pro Max has not been confirmed by Apple and fans of the brand will have to wait a couple of months before more leaks about the next generation flagship phone.
While we may not have any concrete information about the new iPhone 17 Pro Max there are things we do know about the upcoming launch.
Apple launches its range of phones in September each year and the launch event is usually a live stream in the second week of the month. Pre orders for the iPhone 16 opened on 13 September last year, while the iPhone 15 was launched on 12 September in 2023.
The timeline suggests Tuesday 9 or Tuesday 16 September would be likely dates if Apple sticks to the same pattern as previous years, although nothing has been confirmed at this point.
Typically Apple will announce an online event early in September and the live stream will take place around 6pm UK time before pre orders open. iPhones will then be available in stores within two weeks of the announcement.
The current iPhone 16 Pro Max is Apple's top of the range smartphone and is packed full of all the latest Apple technology. Sky is selling the iPhone 16 Pro Max at the lowest price on the market. It costs just £35 a month with a £9 up front fee for the phone on a 26-month contract (you can swap your phone after 24 months) and we cannot find a cheaper deal anywhere.
iPhone 16 Pro Max has been upgraded with a longer battery life and new technology including 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision for better screen quality, camera control and a new titanium design in four colours.
Available in White, Desert, Black and Natural titanium and in three variations; 256GB, 512GB, 1TB. Prices for the handset will start from £1,199 for the 256GB), £1,399 for the 512GB) and £1,599 for the 1TB.
Apple is expected to mix up the lineup by droppin the 'Plus' phone in favour of a new, thinner iPhone 17 Air. It will retain the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max names in the four-strong lineup, according to rumours.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to keep the 6.9-inch screen but the phone will have some new technology including ProMotion display technology with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. That will improve video playback and streaming quality on the new phone and will be a major upgrade over the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Expect iPhone 17 Pro Max prices to be around £45 on a monthly contract. This will put the phone at similar levels to the iPhone 16 Pro Max - although Apple pricing is often difficult to predict.
