As of today PlayStation users can change their horrendous old usernames

People change, Sony. Some of us don’t want to be SlimeBoi69 anymore

It’s long been an issue with the PlayStation Network but it finally appears to be coming to an end: as of today gamers can change their usernames.

I know. I know. Deep breaths, X_scifininja_X. Calm down WankBot4000.

“We’re excited to announce that the online ID change feature on PSN is officially launching to all PlayStation 4 owners later today,” Sony’s social media director, Sid Shuman, stated on the PlayStation Blog. “You’ll also be able to change your online ID via a web browser, and that feature will also be available starting today.”

ID changes are available via a PS4 or web browser. You can make the first change for free but subsequent changes will cost £8, and £4 for PS Plus subscribers.

This may seem like a very minor thing but PlayStation gamers have been without the ability to change their ill-fated gamertags ever since the PlayStation Network’s launch all the way back in 2006.
