Good news Android users – Android Pay is finally here

Never be caught short again.

It’s not easy being an Android user at times.

Between all the buzz around new iPhones and constant jabs about apps and cameras, sometime smartphone users can feel a bit left out – despite Android users being the majority of smartphone owners.

Now Android users are getting another perk that Apple users have been rubbing in their face.

Android Pay has finally reached the UK. Download it here now and cause all manner of queue based havoc when it doesn’t quite work when you’re paying for stuff.

The system, which allows users to pay for products using their phone, much like contactless payment, will be supported by a number of major UK banks when it launches.

The only notable exception are Barclays, who also refrained from using Apple Pay when it first launched.

Android Pay works by having the users first store some card details onto their phone prior to use. Once sorted, Android will then create a virtual account number to protect your details and make secure payments.

For those wanting to live in the future and use the service, you must first make sure you have a phone running Android 4.4 or higher, with a a near field communication (NFC) chip.

One more ace in your pocket in you find yourself in a sticky bind. Who needs wallets, eh?

Android users can download Android Pay here now for free.
