Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s reported Manchester United wages are fit for a king

As far as transfers go, Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United almost makes too much sense.

Since Alex Ferguson's retirement at the end of the 2012/13 season, United have struggled to maintain their status as the most feared club in England, with finishes of 7th, 4th and now 5th in the three years since losing the iconic Scot. But rather than allow themselves to slip any further into obscurity, the powers that be at Old Trafford have done their best to make the Red Devils relevant again by replacing Louis van Gaal with Jose Mourinho and going after one of the biggest names in world football in Zlatan Ibrahimovic. While the legendary Swedish striker may be past his prime somewhat, it seems that an announcement of his arrival in the Premier League is imminent, and the 34-year-old will be handily rewarded for his services. During the season, there was much debate about the earnings of Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford who was finally given an improved deal from his £1,800-a-week wages. The England striker will now be raking in around £25,000 per week, but unsurprisingly Ibrahimovic isn't willing to settle for a five-figure pay packet. The former PSG man is reportedly set to take home £220,000 per week during his time at Old Trafford, having agreed personal terms with the club this week. Although that may seem like a lot to pay a 34-year-old to play in the Europa League, keep in mind that the Swedish captain apparently turned down his own kingdom to link up with his former Inter coach once more.
