Young fan sends money and a brilliant letter of advice to Fulham player

Heart-warming.

As far as one young fan is concerned, Fulham’s Tom Cairney has room to improve.

The midfielder has chipped in with three goals in 12 appearances for his club this season, but a letter he’s received this week has pointed him in the direction of a few areas he needs to work on.

Addressing the 25-year-old simply by his surname, the letter explains that it will ‘give facts and tips about Cairny’, before making suggestions such as: ‘try to do a bicycle kick’ and ‘run fast to get the ball’.

Little is known about the letter’s sender, other than they are a season ticket holder at Craven Cottage and, if the handwriting is anything to go by, not very old.

Although this letter is already extremely helpful to Cairney, the thoughtful youngster has also thrown in £3 as an extra thank you to the player.

‘I am giving you some money to thank you,’ an extra piece of paper explains before closing: ‘COME ON FULHAM’.

Cairney, who played for Hull City and Blackburn Rovers before arriving at Fulham, shared a picture of the letter from his Twitter account.

Let’s hope he takes note of the young fan’s advice… And that he invests his £3 bonus wisely.
