You can probably guess the joke being made after Celtic’s winning run came to an end

Football fans are so fickle.

Celtic’s incredible 69 game undefeated run in domestic football came to an end today as the Bhoys lost 4-0 away to Hearts. It had to end at some point, but it was still a shock to see the hoops lose by such a margin.

The creative geniuses of Twitter decided to take this opportunity to jokingly make the claim that Rodgers had to go.

Celtic expect to win every domestic game they play, as they should with their squad. But we all have off days and Celtic’s had to come eventually.

They are of course the biggest and richest club in Scotland but Brendan Rodgers has achieved with them is nothing short of fantastic. An invincible treble is a spectacular achievement with any team, and it’s not only silverware that Rodgers has brought to Parkhead.

The Northern Irishman has coaching pedigree and you can see it in the playing style he has given this Celtic side. He’s also bled through youth products such as Kieran Terney, reignited the creative spark in Scott Sinclair after his failed move to Man City, and turned Stuart Armstrong into a Scotland starter.

So maybe it was a bit harsh of the suggest that this is the end of the road for the Brodge.
