Mina allegedly appeared to bite the Bournemouth forward

Everton defender Yerry Mina allegedly appeared to bite Dominic Solanke as Everton secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season.

A win for the Toffees was enough, despite Leicester beating West Ham, as Abdoulaye Doucoure’s long range effort in the second half was enough for Sean Dyche’s men to avoid the drop.

With Everton determined to hold onto their lead, tensions overflowed as an intense goalmouth scramble saw Jordan Pickford held to the floor by Solanke, sparking a mass brawl.

Mina was first to arrive onto the scene and during a bizarre sequence of events, appeared to leave his mark on the Bournemouth forward.

Solanke, visibly confused by what had happened, showed his red ‘bite mark’ to referee Stuart Atwell however he wasn’t interested.

Pickford and Solanke were both shown a yellow card for the earlier altercation but Mina himself escaped punishment.

It was the Colombia international’s last game of the season with the defender confirming his departure at the end of season before the game in an Instagram story.

The win at Goodison Park meant that the Toffees condemned Leeds United and Leicester to relegation from the top flight and now means Everton will appear in the top tier of English football for a 70th consecutive year.
