Yaya Touré reportedly offered ridiculous money to move to China

Tom Victor

Remember the uproar when Yaya Touré earned himself his current £240,000-a-week deal at Manchester City? Well he could be set to double it with his next move.

Touré is likely to leave City when Pep Guardiola takes over in the summer – according to his agent Dmitry Seluk, at least – and he could be in line for an absolutely huge offer from the Chinese Super League.

Jiangsu Suning, who recently splashed out around £20m on Chelsea midfielder Ramires, are reportedly ready to offer the Ivorian a massive £30m a year after tax. That’s more than £500,000 every week.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Jiangsu will face a bidding war with other Chinese clubs for the 32-year-old.

Last year’s Chinese Cup winners, who will play in the 2016 Asian Champions League, are managed by former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu.

If Touré does make the move to the Far East, he would follow Guangzhou’s new record signing Jackson Martinez as one of the Chinese Super League’s top earners.
