The city of Liverpool does not like The Sun. Ever since the horrific events of Hillsborough on 15 April 1989 and The Sun’s subsequent story on the disaster, the city has had no love for the newspaper.
The boycott of the Rupert Murdoch-owned publication, which began shortly after the disaster, continues to this day.
Liverpudlian comedy Rob Thomas spoke to JOE about the boycott and why the city will never forgive The Sun.
