Alcaraz has been out of work since leaving Levante in October, ironically following a defeat to a Real Sociedad side then managed by former United boss David Moyes.
But the 49-year-old has got people talking after following a number of Manchester United Twitter accounts - not official club ones either, big fan accounts including that of fanzine Red Issue.
