Whatever happens with Mayweather, Dana White is not interested in McGregor vs. Pacquiao

Make no mistake about it

The possibility of witnessing Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather is growing increasingly realistic, but you shouldn’t hold out much hope of seeing ‘The Notorious’ clash with the other half of the ‘The Fight of the Century’.

As negotiations ramp up between McGregor and Mayweather, with a legitimate offer on the table from UFC president Dana White, Pacquiao threw his hat in the ring for a mega-fight opposite the Irishman who just so happens to be the biggest draw in combat sports.

“In boxing? In boxing (I would) but not in (UFC), just boxing,” Pacquiao told FOX Sports last week in relation to welcoming McGregor to the ring.

“I’m sure he will be moving around,” Pacquiao continued.

“I didn’t see it [footage of Conor sparring]. But if we are talking about Conor McGregor and boxing, it’s different. Boxing is different than MMA.”

But no sooner than Pacquiao had registered his interest did Dana White put the kibosh on that particular super-fight.

The reason?

White doesn’t exactly see eye to eye with Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum.

“Listen, I love Manny Pacquiao,” White said of the possibility of seeing McGregor vs. Pacquiao. “But I don’t love Bob Arum. You can tell Arum to save his money and not make any calls over here because we aren’t doing business with him.”

So that’s the end of that then.
