Winston Reid was captain for West Ham's 3-3 preseason meeting with Altona 93 in Hamburg on Tuesday evening. The German side went ahead three times, only to be pegged back on each occasion by the Hammers in a thrilling game which saw Javier Hernandez make his club debut at the Adolf-Jager Kampfbahn stadium. Chicharito could not get on the scoresheet, however, and the Premier League outfit had to rely on Toni Martinez and Andre Ayew and a Joshua Du Preez own goal to turn a defeat into a draw. Reid was making his return from shin surgery in the game and reportedly remains the subject of interest from Everton, who are understood to be preparing a £9 million bid for the 29-year-old. Whether Reid stays or goes, maybe he should be reminded that it's silly to clap in the face of an official when you're already in his notebook. Just sayin'.
