West Ham fans turn on Dimitri Payet with expletive-ridden new chant

Reputations well and truly tarnished

Nowadays, it doesn’t take long for a footballer to go from hero to zero.

Just ask Dimitri Payet, for example.

Only a matter of days ago, he was adored by supporters of West Ham.

Having only arrived at the club the summer before last, his first year with them saw him establish himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting players.

After further enhancing his reputation with his performances with France at Euro 2016, Payet returned for his second season at West Ham, their first at the London Stadium following their move from Upton Park.

Things haven’t gone quite as smoothly for Slaven Bilic’s side this time around, and during a press conference earlier this week the Croatian revealed that Payet, the club’s player of the season for 2015/16, didn’t want to play for the club.

Having digested the news that their star man seemingly wants out, plenty of West Ham fans made their feelings known as they gathered for their match with Crystal Palace. Changing the lyrics to the song that they’ve belted out for the Frenchman on many occasions in the last 18 months, these supporters appear to have come to terms with the idea that Payet might have played his last game for the club.

The language is quite colourful, so be wary of who’s about when you play this…
