Welcome to the weirdest Fantasy Football punishment of all time

Do we all remember Cassie?

Darragh Murphy

“We need to have some kind of forfeit for whoever finishes last in Fantasy Football this season.”

It’s a conversation that’s been had among many groups of friends who, not content to play for glory or a reward for the person who comes first, want to see losers punished.

The discussion, more often than not, ends with: “Let’s make him down this in one,” or some similarly throwaway penalty.

Never, and we mean never, has it got the stage where some fan of 2006 R&B chimes in with: “What if we make him recreate the smash hit ‘Me&U’ by Cassie?”

But they do things a little differently stateside and, apparently, Cassie continues to live long in the memories of American Fantasy Football players who, curiously, also refer to Fantasy Football as “Fantasy Football.”

The NFL version of the game is just as cutthroat and requires just as much thought as its Premier League iteration to which we’re more accustomed on this side of the Atlantic.

But the punishments are slightly stranger, as proven by this forfeit forced upon this unfortunate Michigan State student, whose season presumably got away from him.

After coming in last place in his league, he was told to get his arse in the dance studio and Cassie himself silly.

And, to be fair, he pulled off the recreation pretty damn well.
