We asked AI to predict the full 2026/27 Premier League season – Here’s who wins

The supercomputer has spoken!

In the two weeks or so before Arsenal begin their campaign to win a first ever back-to-back Premier League title, with a fun Friday night fixture against Frank Lampard's Coventry, most supporters are desperate to find some means to kill some time through our biggest sport's ultimate dry spell.

Fantasy Premier League tinkering, transfer speculation and the odd game of cricket or golf can help pass the time, but nothing comes close to the real thing. And with relatively little happening beyond the latest transfer rumours, it's hard not to wonder what the new season has in store.

Fortunately, we don't have to wait until May to find out.

Every traditional top club except Arsenal will begin the season under a different manager than the one who started the previous campaign— Xabi Alonso at Chelsea, Enzo Maresca at Man City, Andoni Iraola at Liverpool, and the list goes on — it should be next to impossible to predict who will come out on top, or even qualifies for the Champions League next term.

That's not even getting started on the wider battle for Europa and Conference League spots, or the chances the three newly promoted sides have of staying up.

So, rather than trying to make sense of it ourselves, we asked AI chatbot ChatGPT to predict exactly how the 2026-27 Premier League season will unfold.

Who will win the Premier League?

Here's what ChatGPT said: "Arsenal are my pick to retain the Premier League title.

"Mikel Arteta has assembled arguably the league's most complete squad, with strength in every department and enough depth to compete on multiple fronts.

"After finally ending their wait for the title, the psychological burden has disappeared, allowing them to play with confidence rather than pressure.

"Their defensive record remains among the best in Europe, while continued improvement in attack should see them edge another tight title race.

"It may not be as comfortable as last season, but Arsenal have the consistency required to finish first once again."

Who will get relegated?

The AI chatbot isn't giving any of the three promoted sides much hope of survival this season, predicting a return to the usual struggle after last year's remarkable campaign for the newcomers.

That season saw Burnley as the only promoted team to go straight back down, with Leeds comfortably securing their place in the Premier League and Sunderland taking things a step further by sealing a surprise European qualification.

This time around, however, ChatGPT expects a very different story.

Here's what ChatGPT said: "18th – Ipswich Town. Ipswich have earned their place back in the Premier League but face a huge challenge adapting to the quality and intensity of the division.

"They should be competitive at home and pick up some impressive results, but a lack of squad depth could prove costly over 38 matches.

"Survival will likely come down to the final few weeks, though I think they just fall short.

"19th – Hull City. Hull have recruited well but may struggle to score enough goals.

"Their defensive organisation should keep matches close, yet turning solid performances into victories is often the biggest hurdle for promoted clubs.

"Unless they add proven Premier League quality before the transfer window closes, they could spend much of the season in the bottom three."

"20th – Coventry City. Coventry deserve huge credit for reaching the Premier League, but they face the toughest task of the three promoted clubs.

"The step up in quality is significant, and while they are unlikely to be outplayed every week, competing against squads worth hundreds of millions more is an enormous challenge.

"They should earn plenty of admiration for their effort, but I expect them to finish bottom."
