Since then, McClean hasn't made the headlines for footballing reasons, and his latest incident involved a melee between Sunderland and West Brom players.
Danny Graham and Lee Cattermole, in particular, took issue with McClean celebrating in front of the away support following West Brom's 1-0 win at The Hawthorns, and it's safe to say the winger isn't a popular man with Sunderland fans.
They'd booed and jeered McClean throughout the game and, after the players had left the pitch, and the home fans left the ground, a section of Sunderland's fans sang a sectarian "song", called "F*** the IRA".
Needless to say, this video is NSFW, and isn't on McClean's Spotify playlist.
