WATCH: Man United fans claimed the ‘Park the bus’ chant as their own at West Brom

Manchester City beat Manchester United last weekend. You might’ve heard.

The victory left Pep Guardiola’s side 11 points clear of their neighbours at the Premier League summit, enough for lots and lots of people to decide the title race was over before it had even had chance to begin.

The derby defeat was a tough watch for United supporters. Though City’s margin of victory was only slim, they dominated possession at Old Trafford and – but for a couple of minutes before half-time – never really looked like dropping points.

Worse still for the United faithful, their side’s defensive approach to the game was repeatedly mocked by those in the away end, with City fans heard singing “park the bus, park the bus, Man United” throughout the game.

City fans could be heard singing the chant during their 4-1 victory at home to Tottenham on Saturday, with some of the players appearing to join in in the dressing room after the game.

United returned to action on Sunday, where they took on West Brom at the Hawthorns. Before half-time, they’d established a 2-0 lead thanks to a header from Romelu Lukaku and a deflected second from Jesse Lingard.

The away supporters were in good voice after Lingard’s goal, claiming the chant that City fans had directed at their team seven days ago as their own…
