WATCH: Luis Suarez steals manager’s shoe, throws it off Barcelona’s parade bus

Probably not the way to get in your manager's good books

Barcelona are La Liga champions.

Their title was confirmed on Sunday with Lionel Messi’s hat-trick helping them to a 4-2 victory away at Deportivo La Coruna.

On Monday, the team returned to Barcelona for an open-top bus parade of their city’s streets. Thousands turned out to congratulate them, and also to bid farewell to Andres Iniesta, who will leave the club for China at the end of the season.

In the time since, there’s been plenty of footage of the parade circulating on social media. One of the most widely shared clips, however, features Luis Suarez.

In it, we see the Uruguayan – seemingly with some encouragement from Gerard Pique – taking off one of Ernesto Valverde’s shoes and tossing it off the bus and into the crowds gathered by the roadside. The sort of thing that probably wouldn’t impress most football managers.

Barcelona also won the Copa Del Rey this season, defeating Sevilla 5-0 in the final in Madrid last month.

Their European campaign ended disastrously, however. Despite defeating AS Roma 4-1 in their quarter final first leg at the Camp Nou, they fell to a 3-0 defeat in the return in the Stadio Olimpico – enough for the Italian side to progress on the away goals rule.
